Two of the best bakery chains in Bangkok are undoubtably the Folies and Au Bon Pain. And what's more, both are having special goodies for the festive season offerings.

Folies (http://www.folies.net/) has an irresistable collection of french breads, croissants, puff and pies, cookies and muffins, etc.  Their croissants are the best in the city.  Special Christmas goodies on sale till Dec 29 include gingerbread man cookies, plum pudding, fruitcake, mince pies, and more.  Folies has very few branches, and they're at:

Au Bon Pain (http://www.aubonpainthailand.com/) is a global chain with ever-growing presence here.  Their menu is a very wide selection of baked temptations made fresh daily, such as bagels, brownies, cookies; and also sandwiches, soups and salads.  With no margarine or shortening, their products are all free of trans fat, and are made of good quality ingredients.  For Christmas, they have snowman and gingerman cookies, and even cupcakes.  ABP is located at several locations around the city including Siam Paragon, Emporium, Central Pinklao, Siam Discovery Center, Central Bangna, J Avenue Thonglor, MBK, Paradise Park; and also at many office towers and hospitals.
