The Neilson Hays Library is having a Used Books Sale on June 19th-20th (Saturday-Sunday) from 9.30am to 4.00pm - comprising lots of used secondhand books, old books, CD/DVDs and videos at great prices.
Located on Surawong Road in Silom, the Library is about 15 mins walk from Chong Nonsi BTS station or Sala Daeng BTS/MRT station. With more than 20,000 books, the Neilson Hays Library has probably the largest collection of English books in Bangkok, including a wide variety of fiction, non-fiction, magazines and newspapers. The library is open for membership and has approximately 600 members of all ages and many nationalities.
There are several annual membership categories and fees to suit different needs – as follows:
- Family: 3,300 baht (or 2,400 baht for 6 months) entitled to 12 hardcovers at a time - including 4 books from "new" category
- Adult (age 22+ years): 2,500 baht (or 1,900 baht for 6 months) entitled to 6 hardcovers at a time - including 2 books from "new" category
- Senior (age 65+ years): 1,500 baht (or 1,200 baht for 6 months) entitled to 6 hardcovers at a time - including 2 books from "new" category
- Child (age up to 12 years): 1,700 baht (or 1,200 baht for 6 months) entitled to 6 hardcovers - including 2 books from "new" category
A one-off book deposit of 500 baht is required of new members.
