Songkran is the ideal time to savour the classic favourite traditional Thai summer dish called "Khao Chae". Khao chae (ข้าวแช่) is rice soaked in aromatic iced water (usually scented with rose and jasmine), and served with a variety of side dishes and condiments, to cool you down in the hot and sultry weather.
