Central Toys Fair 2013

Central is having a Toys Fair featuring up to 60% off on select toys at some of its department stores during March and April, in time for the schools' summer break.  The schedule and location of the sale is as follows:

 - Central Chidlom:  March 21 - April 10, 2013
 - Central Future Park:  March 15-31 / April 20-June 3, 2013
 - Central Bangna:  March 15 - April 17, 2013
 - Central Phuket:  March 20 - April 10, 2013
 - Central Rama 2:  March 21-31, 2013

The star attraction of the show is undoubtedly the Furby toys, while other trendy toys on offer are the La Dee Da girls, Hot Wheels races, Lego Chima battles, Thomas Trackmaster and Barbie hair studio workshop.

The discounts are on participating items only; and there is also a limit on the purchase of Furbies at 1 piece per customer and 100 Furbys per day.  Besides, if you get there early enough, you might chance upon a free Tech Deck, by registering at the Tech Deck booth - the freebies being limited to only the first 25 customers per day.

Red Cross Fair 2013

The Annual Red Cross Fair 2013 is taking place from March 29 to April 6, at the Royal Amporn Gardens.

The 9-day event is a popular funfair that features hundreds of booths offering a multitude of products at discounted prices, as well as a variety of educational and entertainment activities.  The fair is well-liked for its carnival atmosphere with many games, lucky draws and prizes.

Red Cross is translated as "Ka Chaat" in Thai, so the event is called the "Ngan ka chaat" - in case your local friends don't understand what you mean by the Red Cross Fair.

The opening hours on weekdays are 2 pm to 11 pm, and on weekends 10 am to 11 pm.  Tickets to enter the fair cost 20 Baht per person.

The fair spreads out from the Suan Amporn to the Royal Mounting Statue Plaza, the front area of the Royal Household Bureau (Sanam Saew Pa), Sri-Ayuthaya Road and Rachadamneon-Nok Road.

All proceeds of the fair go towards the charity projects of the Thai Red Cross. This year marks the 120th year of Thai Red Cross Society in Thailand - which serves as the theme of the event.

Exhibitions Galore in March 2013

This month, with school holidays just begun, will see a host of events at Impact Muang Thong Thani - where you can take your unruly kids to.

March 13 to 17 dates are booked for the TIFF 2013 or Thailand International Furniture Fair, as well as the BIFF & BIL 2013 or the Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair.  For both the events, March 13-15 will be for the trade visitors, and March 16-17 (weekend) would be open for the Public.
